Includes (hopefully) useful info for our distributed labels, some indications of where we are at and where we are trying to get to, helpful "Blue Peter" tips on marketing your record label, along with the occasional Father Jack style rant.
In fact, anything we think our labels might be interested in hearing about.
We also plan to share some ideas we have on ways you can cost effectively represent your releases to the marketplace or secure additional income streams.
This blog is also a platform to discuss some of our goals. We have lots of big ideas for 2010 and beyond; ideas that we believe will make us a better distributor, partly by making us more accountable to you, our labels (more news on this in future postings !). We want to make sure our labels are aware of where we are trying to get to. More importantly, we want our labels to actively participate in this journey, so let us know what you want from us !
We also want to use this blog to develop a stronger inter-label community. There are, in fact, very few areas where our labels act in competition with each other. We have far more to gain by working together collectively, rather than trying to go it alone. Many of you already work together, be it remixing each others releases, or co operating on club nights. Lets see if there are more areas where we can pool resource. Do you have any ideas, schemes, or advice that you fancy sharing with other Kudos labels ? Fancy doing some advertising, but need other releases to "fill the page" ? Let me know and I'll happily post it to the blog. If this element becomes popular, we could always add a Private Forum for such discussions.
